Emmanuel Myam, a cyclist who gained viral attention under the moniker Emmiwuks, recently provided insight into why he turned down money from singer Davido.
A few days back, a determined and enthusiastic fan made waves online by embarking on a bicycle journey from Benue to Lagos to meet his idol, Davido.
Davido responded to the situation by advising the young fan, who was already en route to meet him, to turn back since he was currently not at home.
Despite Davido’s suggestion, the young man remained steadfast, declaring his determination to meet the singer. He emphasized that he possessed a gift he wished to personally present to Davido.
Davido, recognizing the fan’s persistence, eventually asked for the cyclist’s bank account details, encouraging him to return home and wait for his return.
In a recent interview with Legit.ng, the cyclist finally unveiled the intriguing reason behind his refusal of Davido’s money.
He explained that money wasn’t his main motivation for undertaking the “risky” adventure. Nonetheless, he kept the possibility open for the singer to personally offer his blessings if he wished. He expressed this sentiment, saying:
“I didn’t share my account details on Twitter like Davido requested because my primary goal is to meet him and present my gift to him. If he chooses to bless me, that’s an additional gesture. My main aspiration has always been to see him, fulfilling a longing I’ve had.”
