A Nigerian woman named Cynthia has addressed accusations from her friend, @AkwaigboG, who publicly accused her of snatching her man and getting pregnant for him. The controversy unfolded on the popular microblogging platform X.
@AkwaigboG shared her side of the story, explaining that she introduced Cynthia to her boyfriend, Obinna, when Cynthia came for a job interview in September 2023. However, communication between them dwindled when Cynthia returned to Lagos after an unsuccessful job interview, and it became apparent that Cynthia was intentionally avoiding contact.
The shocking revelation occurred when someone unexpectedly shared images from Cynthia’s introduction ceremony in their group chat. To @AkwaigboG’s dismay, she discovered that the man marrying Cynthia was none other than her boyfriend, Obinna.
Despite her persistent attempts to communicate with her boyfriend and Cynthia, all efforts proved futile, leading her to resort to calling them out online.
In response, Cynthia took to her X handle, @Cici of Lagos, to share her side of the story, sparking discussions among social media users. She openly admitted to getting intimate with Obinna when her friend was not at home, leading to her pregnancy and what she referred to as their ‘love story.’
Furthermore, Cynthia disputed her friend’s claim that she had been fed during her stay in their home, asserting that she was the one cooking and providing meals for both her friend and her boyfriend. In a bold move, she dared her friend to take whatever action she deemed fit.
In her words, She wrote,
“My junior sister saw your tweets on someone’s Facebook page and called to inform that am been dragged on social media. You didn’t have to put it here without finding out the whole truth.”
“I have been feeling bad about the whole issue and trying to look for a better way to address this and appease you. But since you’ve taken it up to embarrass me on social media, I don’t owe you any explanation.”
“You are lying through your teeth about the issue. Have you told everyone that you weren’t performing the duties of a girlfriend? You don’t even know how to cook a proper meal. Talking about feeding me and all when I was the person doing all the cooking for you and Obinna.”
“We accidentally had s+x one of the days you went to work and it eventually turned to a love story I can’t wipe off because of friendship. I got pregnant too. You can’t blame me for getting pregnant please. I avoided your calls when I returned to Lagos because of guilt.”
“Now you’ve posted it for the world to see I don’t care anymore. Do your worst.”
