Renowned Nigerian artist Burna Boy recently garnered attention for a lighthearted moment at a UK awards show. In a video online, Burna Boy found himself in an amusing predicament co-presenting an award alongside Yasmine Finney.

Upon stepping on stage, Burna Boy struggled with pronouncing words on the teleprompter. The audience chuckled good-naturedly as he works to navigate the script. Despite grappling with unfamiliar phrasing, Burna Boy managed to say parts like “This award is for an independent British designer…” before stumbling.

Displaying swift wit, Burna Boy candidly requested aid from British rapper Stormzy during the ceremony. This impromptu call for help injected spontaneity into the proceedings while demonstrating Burna Boy’s amiable nature and ease connecting with crowds. It further endeared him to loyal fans worldwide who admire his charm.

He said; “Come Stormzy, come and help me abeg. come here, help me read it.”

While they were standing next to each other on stage, Stormzy couldn’t hesitate helping his friend Burna Boy read his part.

Stormzy reads; “This award is for a designer here in the UK whose independent business is a vanguard of creativity and innovation.”

And the other lady on stage Yasmine Finney completed the reading; “and the best independent British designer winner is Wales Bonner.”

Burna Boy, nevertheless, was giving the winner, Wales Bonner, the award as she entered the stage.

Wales Bonner responded by saying that she is a big fan of Burna Boy and that it means a lot to her to receive the award from the Grammy award winner.

She said; “Thank you very much, I’m such a big fan of Buran Boy, so this means a lot to receive this award from you, so thank you for that.”

She said in closing that she and her whole team at Wales Bonner are very grateful for this award.
