At the fancy award show in Rwanda, Davido and Yemi Alade, two Afrobeats stars, ran into each other once again. They had a friendly chat that was really easy-going and heartwarming.
All the big names in African music showed up in style for the 2023 Trace Awards, held at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda on October 21st.
In videos that quickly spread online, Davido and Yemi Alade, both nominated for top awards, bumped into each other just before the show began.
Yemi got super excited when she saw Davido and happily called him “Big Daddy” as he came over. They greeted each other with a warm hug, and Davido mentioned how it felt like a long time since they last met. Yemi playfully referred to him as “the Lord Chosen.”
During their chat, Davido noticed they were both wearing a bit of green in their outfits, which he found amusing and pointed out. They finished off the video with a cheerful selfie.
