Renowned Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has criticized the fairness of Nigeria’s political system, stating that the ongoing election lacks transparency.

Davido’s comments come in response to the recent tribunal decision that upheld President Tinubu’s victory, despite Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and others losing their case.

Today, on September 6th, 2023, marks the day of the tribunal judgment, with the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) delivering its verdict at the Court of Appeal Complex situated in the Three Arms Zone, Shehu Shagari Way, Central Business District of Abuja.

Earlier, Davido took to his verified X (formerly Twitter) page to express his surprise at the Tribunal’s decision to dismiss the petition seeking Tinubu’s disqualification.

In a clear message to everyone, Davido stated that he was not pleased with the Tribunal’s verdict, emphasizing that elections in Nigeria are far from flawless. He added that the winner is not necessarily the best candidate but often the most determined or resilient.

He wrote; “Nigeria Election nah by who rugged pass.”

He added; “A divided house cannot stand …… everybody long throat .. well.”
