In a live-streamed session, Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, raised concerns about the questionable ownership of his son’s land holdings. He spoke out about the allegations surrounding the possession of documents related to these properties.
According to Mr. Joseph Aloba, his son had informed him while he was alive that he had acquired two acres of land and a plot. When he inquired about the ownership documents for these lands, Mohbad explained that the purchase and documentation had been handled by his wife’s mother.
Despite his persistent efforts to contact Mohbad’s mother-in-law, she eventually provided documents for just one plot of land. He disclosed that this single plot of land was where Mohbad had been laid to rest. Mohbad’s father concluded that he had been unfairly portrayed as the wrongdoer by his son’s mother-in-law, who alleged that he was attempting to claim his son’s property.
In his words, he said:
“Mohbad did not buy a single block before he died; I am into construction. The mother-in-law is the one who knows the location of his two plots of land.
“My son told me that he bought two acres of land and a plot, I was happy that he got it even before he bought a car. I asked him to show me where the land his but he said his mother-in-law helped him to buy it and he does not know the location.
“I called his wife’s mother and called her but she denied at first. I persisted and when she eventually brought the documents of the land, it was a plot and the location was Elepe.”
