In a recent interview with content creator Kamsi Nnamani, the outspoken Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson, disclosed his intentions to take a hiatus from acting in films next year.

At 36 years old, Timini shared that the demanding nature of his career has led to a relentless schedule, often leaving him with only six hours of sleep per day. Recognizing the toll it has taken, he expressed the necessity of stepping back for a while.

Hailing from Bayelsa state, Timini has been a fixture on the Nollywood scene for over 14 years, gaining recognition for his roles in popular television series like “Tinsel” and the blockbuster film of 2023, “A Tribe Called Judah.”

His repertoire extends beyond these successes, having appeared in notable productions such as “MTV Shuga,” “Isoken,” “Elevator Baby,” “Superstar,” “Juju Stories,” “Big Love,” “Breaded Life,” and many others. Presently, Timini Egbuson is also part of the Prime Video reality show, ‘Ebuka Turns Up Africa,’ alongside Zubby Michael, TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Onoja, Alistair, and OAP Jimmie.

Announcing his movie break, he said, “I only rest when I go out at night. I only sleep five hours to six hours a day. And then keep the work going. But next year I’m going on a sabbatical. I have been acting for the past fourteen years consistently.”

“There has never been a downtime or a time when I’m just chilling. And I did not say that with pride. I say that with all humility. It has just been God.”

Timini Egbuson said he stumbled into acting by following his sister, actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande to sets.

He added he would initially go to sets to protect her but then he fell in love with acting.
