Burnaboy, the Grammy Award-winning artist, has faced criticism recently due to an old video resurfacing on the internet.

In this video clip, Burnaboy can be seen leaving an interview with a non-Nigerian journalist, and he describes it as dull. During this interview, he walks out on his mother, Bose Ogulu, and his grandfather (his mom’s dad).

In the video, Bose Ogulu shares her experiences growing up as the daughter of a band manager. She talks about being punished by the band due to her father’s inability to pay some debts.

In response, the grandfather featured in the video revealed that he used to pay the band from his own earnings, and sometimes they wouldn’t receive payment due to a lack of acceptable currency.

The grandfather further commented that the dynamics have changed nowadays, with artists performing mainly for financial gain rather than for the sake of spiritual fulfillment.

Shortly after, Burnaboy abruptly left the interview, expressing his view that the episode was uninteresting. While the grandfather expressed an opposite sentiment, finding it increasingly engaging, the mother appeared displeased with Burnaboy’s actions.
