In a recent video circulating online, Young Duu, formerly associated with Portable’s Zeh Nation record label, publicly addresses Carter Efe regarding the ownership of their collaborative track, “Oyinmo.”

After Young Duu’s departure from Portable’s label, comedian Carter Efe extended support and accommodation to him. However, matters took a turn when, on November 8th, 2023, the audio and music video for “Oyinmo,” a song jointly created by Carter Efe and Young Duu, were released. The music quickly gained popularity, resonating with many listeners and accumulating significant replay value.

Contrary to popular belief, Carter Efe asserts his ownership of the song, challenging the prevailing notion that he and Young Duu share equal footing in the creation of the hit track “Oyinmo.” According to Carter Efe, Young Duu is designated as a featured artist in the song.

Carter Efe has taken proactive steps to promote the song’s popularity by initiating the #Oyinmochallenge. Furthermore, he has started performing the song at various events without the involvement of Young Duu, indicating a solo representation of the track by Carter Efe himself.

In an Instagram live video with his fans and followers, Young Duu took the opportunity to address the situation with Carter Efe, asserting that the comedian is attempting to take advantage of him.

According to Young Duu, he is the rightful owner of the song, emphasizing that he crafted the lyrics throughout the entire track. He claims that Carter Efe, leveraging industry connections, managed to acquire control of the song, even performing it at shows without Young Duu.

Accusing Carter Efe of exploitation, Young Duu goes on to highlight that Carter Efe is not primarily an artist but a comedian without the necessary musical skills. Young Duu alleges that Carter Efe has been pushing him to release an album, but he has expressed hesitation, indicating that he is still contemplating such a move.

In his words; “I’m the one who owned the song, I’ve been ripped; Someone else has taken over my song! Carter used industry brain to collect my song, going to show with my song. He is a comedian, not a singer. He doesn’t want to help me but always takes credit for those pulling the strings.

“I don’t want to expose everything. It’s not good; my boss did me bad and you want to do the same thing. You guys have family, the same way I came from someone else. So this was why you wanted me to drop an album for you,” he said in part.
