Nigerian actor Chiwetalu Agu sparked an online debate with a video reacting to his son’s new iPhone purchase.
In the TikTok clip posted by the Nollywood star’s son, he questions him about the price paid for his new iPhone 13 Pro Max. The son claims he got it for just 187,000 Naira, but the father insists he already researched the prices and knows it’s worth at least a million.
Justifying the large sum, the son explains he bought not just the phone but also a case, screen protector, and charger for a total of 1.1 million Naira.
This disclosure earns an audible exclamation from his father, who proceeds to warn that as someone who can afford such an expensive device, his son should now be prepared to support the whole family financially. The video sparked discussion online about parenting styles and the responsibility that comes with luxury purchases.
