Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of the esteemed Nollywood icon, John Okafor, widely recognized as Mr Ibu, has successfully dispelled the accusations leveled against her.
In a recent turn of events, Jasmine and Mr Ibu’s son found themselves in custody at Alagbon Police Station last month. This revelation came to light through actress Doris Ogala, who asserted that Mr Ibu’s wife orchestrated their arrest on suspicions of siphoning 300 million Naira from the actor’s account. Allegedly, Mr Ibu’s wife intended for them to utilize the funds for purchasing a new residence, as part of the financial contributions amassed for her husband’s medical treatment.
Following nearly a fortnight of confinement at the police station, Jasmine has now been released, absolved of all charges brought against her. In a video circulating online, a gentleman officially declared Jasmine innocent of any wrongdoing, emphasizing that their investigation found no connection between Jasmine and the funds in question.
He also revealed the money was indeed transferred by a member of the family. The man said in part:
“Finally the case about Jasmine and Ibu’s family has been resolved.
After our findings, we discovered that Jasmine didn’t have anything to do with the money that had been transferred.
…I’m not here to tell you but not her. It was a member of the family. So they are here to resolve everything.”
