Renowned Afrobeat sensation, Davido, has openly expressed his admiration for the incredible rags-to-riches journey of Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of the BBNaija All Stars competition. Ilebaye, a 22-year-old model hailing from Kogi state, Nigeria, triumphed as the victor of the grand prize, which amounted to a staggering N120 million. Her victory, achieved on Sunday night, surpassed the efforts of five other finalists.
In a surprising turn of events, Ilebaye managed to secure an impressive 30.8% of the total votes, outperforming her closest rival, Mercy Eke, who received 23.48%. What truly astonishes many is the fact that Ilebaye faced eviction after just three weeks during her initial season, “Level Up,” in 2022. In the All-Stars season, she was widely considered an underdog, making her triumphant journey all the more inspiring.
In celebration of the self-proclaimed “Gen Z Baddie,” Afrobeats superstar, Davido took to social media platform and wrote, “Ilebaye… I love a success story!”
Ilebaye responded in the comments section, saying, “Thank you OBO.”
It is worth noting that DMW leader, Davido initially supported Kiddwaya and Neo Energy as potential winners of the grand prize at the start of the show, although neither of them made it to the finals.
