Nigerian hip-hop veteran, Eedris Abdulkareem, has delved into the ongoing discourse surrounding his younger colleague, Burna Boy, and the dynamics of the music industry.

A sneak peek from an unreleased segment of the widely followed podcast, The Honest Bunch, captures the Jaga Jaga maestro addressing the perceived misunderstandings Burna Boy has with fellow musicians.

In 2020, the Grammy award-winning artist, signed to Atlantic Records, stirred controversy by asserting that none of his senior colleagues had paved the way for his success. Burna Boy claimed that individuals in the Nigerian music industry were solely focused on their personal interests or showing resentment towards others’ achievements.

The forthcoming podcast episode, scheduled for release on Monday, February 19, features Eedris Abdulkareem expressing his disapproval of Burna Boy’s stance on the matter.
