Nigerian singer and Mavins record signee, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known by her stage name Ayra Starr, responded to an online trend in which a Nigerian man was seen dragging her.

In a widely shared video, a Nigerian man going by the handle Naijashimadun criticizes Grammy nominee singer Ayra Starr for consistently dressing provocatively, calling her Ayera Star rather than Ayra Starr.

The man stated that he had never seen Ayra Starr dress in a way that covered her body and that she only ever wore short clothing, such as handkerchiefs.

Following his criticism of Ayra Starr for showing too much skin due to her attire, the Nigerian went on to criticize her for shaking hands with music icon King Sunny Ade.

Despite Ayra Starr’s later apology and consequent pardon, the man claimed that she had disrespected King Sunny Ade. On the other hand, he took issue with the singer’s apology post, in which she called King Sunny Ade her uncle and said that the legend is old enough to have given birth to Ayra Starr.

The popular picture of Ayra Starr and Jaywon in Los Angeles, where she was holding down the hand of her senior colleague, was also included in the call-out video featuring a Nigerian man.

He said that Ayra Starr should exercise caution in her actions and that it was disrespectful to singer Jaywon.
